The MD of Basically Trade, recently travelled to Cork, Ireland for a business trip with a well-respected manufacturer. As a company, we are always looking for ways to improve our products and, we believe that working with like-minded manufacturers is a great way to do this. As you may know, we as a company offer two ranges of paintable doors the slab and J Pull range and, we have spent a lot of time developing these two ranges to a point where we feel they have finally met our high standards and, because of this we feel it is now time to start developing a third style of paintable doors, the very popular shaker style door. This will be a one piece shaker door that we guarantee will be stable at any temperature which means no cracking joints or movement. |
There are many benefits to us manufacturing our own range of paintable doors and, that is why we work so hard to get them right before launching them on the market. One of the benefits is all of our doors come in bespoke sizes as well as a choice of any RAL colour. Another benefit is that we have much more control over the quality of the paint finish before it goes out to you the consumer as it is all done in house and if it doesn’t meet the requirements then it doesn’t leave the door.
We began developing the door at the start of this year and, after a lot of programming and trials we were right on the cusp of cracking it but, we were missing a piece of the puzzle. So, we decided to reach out to an associate in Ireland that experienced the same manufacturing problems we faced when trying to produce this range of paintable doors and he said he would be happy to meet and run through the process he’s been successful with.
After an interesting meeting of minds and an exchange of manufacturing processes, it’s safe to say it was a very worthwhile meeting, which will soon come to fruition.
